I should have mentioned that I just bought it yesterday, so I've got almost zero hands-on time, and was not motivated to waste much time beyond seeing that it at least worked. This post was intended as a cursory eval. So far, for the money, it's a rather serious tool, esp from the source from which it came. I suspect it will serve okay for a duffer like me. Documentation is not the greatest, however.

Just trying to prod you out of the same trap that I see 'professional' technicians fall in to all the time. You have to spend time with the tool to see what it can do, and how you go about doing. And the same thing on the car. You have to spend time to see what RIGHT looks like, what normal behavior is, before you can really identify WRONG.
