I have an HP DV5T laptop with a Blu-Ray drive on it. I have installed HP's Cyberlink quickplay program in order to try and get a blu-ray movie it play but the program freezes.
I realize this may be more of an issue with HP's development side versus Microsofts, however with the complete install of the application, it also provides playback codecs for blu-ray. I tried going through Windows Media Center to view it and it states that I still need to install the correct codecs. Media Center is able to read what the disc is and get the movie informaiton, is there something I am missing to allow playback? McAkins said: Maybe you should try first in Windows Explorer to see if you can read the Disc content. Also try to run the video through Windows Media Player and see if it works. I you have a native player come with that laptop you may try that also first.
All these is to confirm that Windows can see your device and eliminate the WMC factor.Tried all the above. I am able to view the contents of the disc. The Cyberlink quickplay software came with the laptop. I have the most recent version installed. Playback doesn't work in that, Media Center, or Media Player.
